Hi! Look at what I’ve drawn. On the top drawing, I used my black and gray ink pens. I’ve already started inking the bottom sketch. I plan on coloring it digitally sometime. I love the folds in her skirt! Ah!
I’ve got some drawings today!
This is Princess Mononoke, a Studio Ghibli piece. I used a reference pic for this. Reference photos make drawings so much easier, for some reason. Whenever I try drawing something completely new, it’s more of a challenge. It just means I’m still learning.
I love Howl’s Moving Castle. It’s one of my favorites. If you’ve seen the movie, you should read the book. It’s a little quirkier, but it’s awesome. I’ve read it so many times…But every time I reread it, I noticed little details that made the plot more interesting. Anyway, I used a reference pic again, but this time I tried adding a little of my style and tastes (pretty much the eyes and length of hair.) I’m getting more comfortable with inking, by the way!
This is what I’m working on currently. This is Sylvia and Jex. I’m calling this drawing, “Get out of my House”. hehe. I think I need to change Jex’s face a little.
I’m buying Paint Tool Sai very soon, and I’m really excited! So long for now!
I’m going to listen to some songs and draw what comes to mind. I won’t say I’ll start tomorrow because whenever I pinpoint a day, I never do it. If anyone decides to do the same thing, tell me because I would very much like to see what you might come up with!
Has anyone watched the anime Acchi Kocchi? It’s hilarious and I love it.
So here’s Nikkolas, my newest character. He will inherit his father’s chocolate factory with magic chocolate that can bring skeletons to life. Skeleton Carnival WOO! I’m pleased with this idea, but I don’t know what is going to happen past that. I guess figuring it out along the way will be the most fun.
It’s Sylvia and Jex again, and they look better! I think I’m getting the hang of drawing bodies. It’s all thanks my anatomy book. In this sketch I tried foreshortening their limbs a little. I hope it looks decent in your eyes. I will definitely paint this (digitally) sometime.
Also, I’m glad they look more “manga-like.”
This is Ia again. In all the pictures of her she’s always looked calm and shy, so I decided to draw her dancing. I’m going to work on the pose and the tilt of her head to make it look more “dance-y,” but I think I’m ready for Sai.
I’m in a great mood today! I’ve got my jams, which consist of dance remix/ trance songs, and I’m set for the rest of the day. (psh. who needs homeschooling?) I’m just kidding, Mom, if you read this. I’ll get to it eventually.
This sketch is of a random character that I made on the spot. I was thinking of names to give her, and Ella seemed to fit the best. I know an important part of drawing manga is drawing a character from different perspectives, so that’s what I tried here. The only thing that looked off was the shape of her head on the farther away version and the length of her legs (her knees look too low), but everything else looks fine.
When I was drawing this, I had Fairy Tail in mind. I tried making Ella look like she could be a character.
I really want to learn how to paint with a graphic tablet. I have one now and I’ve made a few things, but I’ve put it aside to focus on building up my skill on paper. It might take a while, though. I have trouble with just about everything. My goal for now is to improve on drawing hair and clothes.
I feel like I should say more, but that’s it for now. I have to get used to saying so much online.
