this way penguin sketch

This way, penguin

Woohoo, I finished it quickly! Here’s the sketch and the final piece. I’m very happy with it. I’m getting better at placing facial features, I think. The background was so much fun. It took me fifteen minutes. I’m learning to make my lines smoother and cleaner. I also had to be soft in applying the shades, especially on her skin and sweater. I had to lower the density of my brush and sometimes play around with the blend setting.

When I was constructing the sketch, I had a little trouble. I had to redraw it a few times before ending up with something good. Tilting her shoulders and hips in opposite directions helped. I really like the angle of her head too.

I’m definitely not an expert of human proportions, but I felt pretty comfortable eyeballing it. I used my ruler here and there.

Fanart Jack Frost and Rapunzel

Jack and Rapunzel Theme 1 rare event

So…whoa. I found some new brush settings and I gotta say that I like them a lot.

I made this for “Jackunzel” Week, Day One theme: Once in a Blue moon (rare event.) When I thought of them putting on shoes together, I almost cried. And I’m really glad it turned out so nice!  There are more themes for the rest of the week, but I don’t think I’ll make any more. I’ve got so many other drawings to make!

Goodbye then

(I should’ve spent more time on the hands grrrr)

Girl in Blue Jacket

Girl in the navy

I made this this morning for another lovely friend of mine.

Starting May 1st, I’m going to try to take part in one maybe two fan art weeks on Tumblr, so I’ll be posting the stuff I make here as well as my tumblr blog. The first week is for Jack Frost and Rapunzel. Second week is for Merida and Hiccup. Oh, crossovers. I didn’t like it at first, but I’m starting to now. I feel bad for Eugene.

_ink practice guy face small_coffee swirls smallHi! Look at what I’ve drawn. On the top drawing, I used my black and gray ink pens. I’ve already started inking the bottom sketch. I plan on coloring it digitally sometime. I love the folds in her skirt! Ah!

Jane and the Ocean Sketch

jane and the ocean sketch

I tried to make this as clean as possible, and I really like how this is looking. I think I’ll trace it on another paper before adding color.

So this is a fanart, I guess. I based the girl off Jane from the Lizzie Bennet Diaries, which you can watch on youtube. It’s a nice vlog series.
